Emile Hirsch appeared in a Utah courtroom on Monday in connection with his alleged assault on a woman at the Sundance Film Festival back in January.
He appeared before Judge Kara Petitt in a court just outside of Park City, Utah. He was joined by a friend and two of his attorneys.
Hirsh was charged with felony aggravated assault in addition to a misdemeanor of public intoxication.
Salt Lake Tribune reports after the quick court appearance, he was booked next door at the police station and took a mug shot. His next court date is set for April 13 but he isn’t required to show up for that one.
One of Hirsch’s attorneys, Neil Kaplan, said Hirsch has been receiving treatment after the night in question, previously admitting he blacked out and doesn’t remember reportedly putting a female film executive in a chokehold and dragging her across the room at a club.
He was at Sundance in support of his film Ten Thousand Saints with Ethan Hawke.
