Made in Texas: 20 famous actors from the Lone Star state

13. Jaclyn Smith

Born in 1945 as Jaclyn Ellen Smith in Houston, Texas, she had originally planned to be a famous ballerina after graduating high school.

In 1973, she received a job as a Breck Shampoo model.

When the television series Charlie’s Angels was piloted, Smith was one of the three female leads and she is the only Angel to never leave the show during the 1976-1981 run. She reprised the role with a cameo appearance in the 2003 film Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle.

Smith was nominated for the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Miniseries for her portrayal of the famous first lady in the TV film Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy (1981) and went on to star in several other films and TV shows.

Beginning in the 1980s, she began developing and marketing her own brands of clothing, perfume and skincare.

Since 1985, Kmart has her clothing line in the stores, and Smith can be seen as a spokesperson.
