14. Dabney Coleman

Dabney Wharton Coleman was born in Austin, Texas in 1932; his mother was Mary Wharton (Johns) and his father was Melvin Ralph Coleman. Coleman attended the Virginia Military Institute as well as studied law at the University of Texas.

His early work in film included The Slender Thread (1965) and Downhill Racer (1969). His early work on TV was That Girl (1966).

In 1982, he played a key role in Tootsie as the unlikeable boss. Coleman's other best-known films include The Towering Inferno (1974), 9 to 5 (1980), On Golden Pond (1981), The Beverly Hillbillies (1993) and You've Got Mail (1998).

He is known as Chief Quimby in Inspector Gadget and he was in the movie Stuart Little, both in 1999.
