Musician and actress Selena Gomez was born in Grand Prairie, Texas in 1992, and was named after the singer Selena, who died in 1995.
She is known as Alex Russo on The Wizards of Waverly Place for the Disney channel from 2007 to 2012.
In 2009, she started in the music scene with the release of her first album with her band Selena Gomez & the Scene.
Her first solo album Stars Dance was released in 2013 and today she is a top billboard performer.
Gomez's acting credits include starring roles in the films Another Cinderella Story (2008), Ramona and Beezus (2010), Spring Breakers (2012) and The Fundamentals of Caring (2016).
