As Good as It Gets (1997)
Jack Nicholson has done quite a few rom-coms and plays the suave ladies man frequently. This time, however, he is not a playboy, but Melvin, an obsessive-compulsive germaphobe who does not try to fit into society in the least. He hates his gay neighbor (Greg Kinnear) and is obsessed with his waitress (Helen Hunt) who has a chronically ill child and really crappy health insurance. In order to get things back in order, Melvin has to step on the lines of life and get messy. Nicholson won an Oscar for this role.
