Celebrities you will never believe were game show hosts

Jerry Springer (Baggage - 2010)

If you watched the clip included with The Chair, you now know that this person was at one time in his life the Mayor of Cincinnati, Ohio. Well, he moved on from politics and ventured into the world of television, going on to create and host one of the most notorious programs in TV history. Yes, it's The Jerry Springer Show, and yes, Jerry Springer did host a game show. In fact, prior to his game show host stint and way into his talk show host career, Jerry hosted the second and third seasons of NBC's popular summer competition series America's Got Talent. Two years after leaving AGT, Jerry Springer brought his hosting talents to GSN to emcee it's newest dating game show, Baggage.

Baggage was basically a new spin on The Dating Game. One eligible bachelor or bachelorette meets three available love interests, each with a small, medium and large piece of luggage. Inside each piece of luggage is some information about them, known as their baggage. As the luggage gets bigger, so does the baggage inside, and over the course of three rounds, the main man or woman gets to find out what their potential dates are really like through some of their most intimate secrets. After all the baggage is revealed, a winner is chosen but the game is not over as the tables then flip. The person picked then gets to see one piece of baggage about their new significant other. If they can't except the piece of baggage contained within the big red bag, the relationship is over as quickly as it began.

Despite what some might say about his talk show, Jerry Springer is an excellent host and definitely proved it while hosting Baggage. He was funny, always provided a sly quip about each piece of baggage and was always energetic. He has more energy than some game show hosts half of his age. Springer also had a great intro catchphrase which he would say right before the opening titles that definitely showed off not only his wild personality but how wild the actual show is ... "We'll open up this bag and a whoooooooole lot more coming up on Baggage!"

Jerry is such a delight to watch and was a perfect fit for Baggage. If another dating game show comes along someday, which is almost guaranteed, Jerry should be at the top of the list for hosts.
