6. Detroit
The newest addition to this list, and another one that you probably knew was coming at some point. Detroit is not an easy film to watch — it tells of a rough history the city would rather forget during the race riots of 1967. However, director Kathryn Bigelow refuses to let us forget. While the film can be viewed as traumatic, it’s also necessary viewing that shows the city in a whole new light.
