10. Only Lovers Left Alive
Tom Hiddleston and Tilda Swinton play immortal vampires who are in love. Need we say more? The film, directed by Jim Jarmusch (Paterson, which is another great film if you’re willing to be a patient audience), is shot in several different locations — one of them being in Detroit in a 135 year old mansion that’s heavily featured in the film. Only Lovers Left Alive may not be flawless storytelling, but it’s worth seeing for the set design and performances alone.
