5: When Winn’s mom is introduced in "Schott Through the Heart" (S3E14)
This season of the show has certainly been one where we learn characters’ backstories and watch them develop and grow. One of the best examples is when Winn’s mother (Laurie Metcalf), who left when Winn was young to protect herself from his father, approaches him to reconnect and mend their past. We find out more about Winn’s dark past and how much it influences his actions. By the end of the episode, Winn and his mother are on better terms, after the team prevents her murder from her ex-husband’s assistant.
