3. Star Wars: The Last Jedi (available June 26)
There are people out there who hate this movie and say it’s not Star Wars. I don’t care. These are the same people who criticized The Force Awakens for being too safe. The Last Jedi is unlike any other Star Wars movie we’ve seen before, yes — but that’s what this franchise needs. We know what happens when the studio is too involved and they go the safe route: just look at this week's Solo for a very blah example of that. The Last Jedi works on so many different levels, I’m in awe of the guts Rian Johnson had with this movie and I think it turned out brilliantly.
