The National Memorial Day Concert is a free event that has been held since 1989 on the west lawn of the United States Capitol Building. The concert is broadcast live on PBS and NPR. The event can also be seen by military personnel overseas in over 175 countries and aboard over 200 U.S. Navy ships at sea. Millions of people view and hear the concert, and more than half a million people attend.
