8. “We Belong Together”
“We Belong Together” was the first single released in 2005 after a hiatus by the singer and dubbed as her comeback song. It samples lyrics from the Bobby Womack’s song titled, "If You Think You're Lonely Now.” During the second verse of “We Belong Together” Carey sings as many notes per syllable as she possibly can. That technique coupled with the fact that she doesn’t even raise her voice till nearly the end of the song makes it one of my favorites.
