12 women chefs you need to know about right now

Stephanie Izard

Chicagoan Stephanie Izard was the first female to win Bravo's Top Chef during its fourth season.

She has been co-owner and executive chef of three award-winning Chicago restaurants, Girl and the Goat, Little Goat, and Duck Duck Goat.

In 2013 she won the James Beard Foundation Award for "Best Chef: Great Lakes," and in 2010 she was named Food & Wine Magazine’s “Best New Chefs.”

Her coolest victory may be something different.  In 2017, she beat Bobby Flay, Michael Symon and Masaharu Morimoto on Iron Chef Gauntlet where she too joined the ranks of Iron Chef.
