Cristeta Comerford is a Filipino-American chef who has served as the White House Executive Chef since she was appointed to the post by Laura Bush in 2005. She is not only the first Asian to hold this post, but she is also the first woman.

 

This chef immigrated to America from the Philippines when she was 23 and worked in a few restaurants before she was recruited by White House executive chef Walter Scheib III in 1995 to work in the Clinton White House.

She is known for her commitment to healthier cooking.
