1. The Shawshank Redemption (1994)
Another Fun fact: You can actually visit The Ohio State Reformatory — where The Shawshank Redemption was filmed — and take a tour of the place. It’s also said to be haunted (which, given the history of the place, we’re inclined to believe). Regardless, it’s a beautiful location that provides the perfect setting for the Stephen King adaptation, in a film that’s highly regarded amongst film critics and fans.
