Miley Cyrus, 23, took home the most coveted award for Video of the Year at the 2014 MTV VMA's and used the platform to expose the issue of youth homelessness. The singer sent her friend Jesse, a homeless teen, up to accept the award on her behalf to inform the world of Cyrus' newest philanthropy, The Happy Hippie Foundation. Cyrus has also volunteered and donated her time to charities like the Red Cross, City of Hope, Blessings in a Backpack and Starkey Hearing Foundation.
