4. Mama Flora's Family
This 1997 miniseries was based on a novel by Alex Haley. It was about family matriarch Flora, as played by Cicely, her story, and her descendants. Queen Latifah, Blair Underwood, Erika Alexander, and Mario Van Peebles starred with her in the production. Cicely won the Image Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Television Movie or Mini-Series for her performance in 1999.
