6. The Help
Based on Katherine Stockett's 2009 novel of the same name, the 2011 production was comprised of an incredible cast, which included Viola Davis and Octavia Spencer. The story centered around a girl from Jackson, Mississippi, named “Skeeter,” and her journey through writing and publishing a book about black maids via firsthand accounts by them in the South during the Civil Rights Era.
