9. A Hero Ain't Nothin' but a Sandwich
This 1978 film was based on the novel, A Hero Ain't Nothin' but a Sandwich, by Alice Childress. The story is centered around the life of Benjie, a 13-year old boy who becomes addicted to heroin in an attempt to escape the trouble going on with his family. Tyson plays the role of Sweets, Benjie's mother. For this role, she won the Image Award for Outstanding Actress in a Motion Picture.
