5. Ghost in the Shell
The 1995 film originally titled in Japan Mobile Armored Riot Police: Ghost in the shell follows Motoko Kusanagi and the black sector Public security section 9 in New Port City of Japan in the speculative not too distant future. Kusanagi is a cyborg with beauty and she kicks butt in the movie, with its stellar visuals, awesome commentation on the inner workings of secret bureaucracy, and technology that revolutionizes how enforcement goes after crime with urban warfare tactics. The movie was a hit, and will always be a hit, and it was the version of the Ghost in the Shell Hollywood picked up.
