6. Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood
While there was a Fullmetal Alchemist anime with its own original storyline loosely based off the manga, which was great, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood is the anime tightly based on the manga series to a T. This one was definitely made due to hardcore fans getting angry at the first anime for going in a completely different direction. The story is set in a world where alchemical transmutation based on the equivalent exchange is possible and follows Edward and Alphonse Elric who while under twenty serve the highest levels of government in the country Amestris. Tie in the uber villainous seven deadly sins and their father amid a conspiracy that involves the top of the state and you got a great story speaking on several levels.
