Celebrating Kurt Cobain with top 10 Nirvana music videos and performances

3. Music video: Heart-Shaped Box

"Heart-Shaped Box" was the first single off In Utero (1993), originally titled "Heart-Shaped Coffin."  The song was based on a present his wife, Courtney Love, had given him when they first began dating. Cobain was not the conventional-romantic type and he expressed that in this morbid-love song. "Heart-Shaped Box" reached number 1 on Billboard Modern Rock Tracks, and the music video received the 1994 MTV VMA's for Best Alternative Video.
