4. The rules aren’t complicated
When watching skiing, it’s difficult to tell where an infraction takes place and where the athlete gets his points. In curling, the rules are clear. You can see when someone accidentally touches a stone, also known as burning a stone, and you can see exactly where the stone lands in the house.
When the stone gets to the house, you can clearly see which ring it touches and know how much each point is worth. In skiing or ice-skating, judges have point systems and it is hard to know exactly why a certain athlete won.
