9. The USA is the underdog
The United States women’s team hasn’t won a medal at all and the men’s team only has one bronze that they won in 2006. Canada is the country with the most medals. They have won eight total, three gold, three silver and two bronze medals.
Since the US has won one medal, that makes them the underdog. And everyone loves to root for the underdog. It is more rewarding for the US to win when they’ve never done it before. The hard work that the program proves is shown when they finally win an award.
The United States and Denmark are known for their losing streak. I think it is because no one here appreciates how amazing curling.
