1. Johnny B. Goode
Everyone has jammed to Johnny B. Goode at some point in their lives. It's a song about being great at rock and roll, and it does a perfect job at showing it. Almost as an ode to himself, he sings "He could play a guitar just like ringing a bell." It's made a timeless appearance in Back to the Future and is even one of the four American songs that NASA included on their time capsule launched into space, Voyager 1 and 2. The opening riff is immediately identifiable and is an iconography that is still chased in rock and roll music today.
Chuck Berry is just one of many legendary black artists and social influencers who completely changed the status quo of their area of interest. With skills on the guitar that made it move and come alive, Berry's influence still lingers in the riffs played on guitars today.
