10 reasons why Martin Luther King Jr. would have been president

10. With his monumental success seemingly wavering as he neared his death, he would have kept momentum and brought it back if he were alive

It is true that Malcolm X and the rise of Black Militancy led to the disenfranchisement of Martin Luther King Jr., but he still had accomplished a lot and was an impressive force even during his ending years. Although many were angry mostly with his non-violence stance, he succeeded because he took the actions he felt were right with himself. And if he had not been assassinated, he would have brought experience and patience which would have diversified our institutions sooner because he was ever present in the movement.

He said in 1968, “I’m frankly tired of marching. I’m tired of going to jail in 1968. Living every day under the threat of death, I feel discouraged every now and then and feel my work’s in vain, but then the Holy Spirit revives my soul again.”
