10 Oscar-winning movies from the past decade you can't miss

6. The Iron Lady

Meryl Streep won an Oscar for Best Actress in a leading role in The Iron Lady at the 84th Acadamy Awards in 2012, in this historical biography directed by Phyllida Lloyd and written by Abi Morgan.

The movie follows the aged Margaret Thatcher, Britain's first female Prime Minister, as she reminisces over her dead husband and her career, from the first appearing in parliament to become head of the Conservative Party, finishing with her history-making appointment.

As Mrs. Thatcher grieves over her husband who helped her through all of it, the movie is an incredible insight into one of the most powerful woman in history, who led England through the end of the Cold War in the eighties.
