10. No Country For Old Men
Written and directed by the Coen brothers and Winner for Best Picture at the 80th Acadamy awards in 2008, the movie had a great cast of actors and characters and is based on the book by Cormac McCarthy.
Javier Bardem plays as Chigurh the ever relentless and shadowy elusive assassin hired by the drug cartels, to hunt down Llewelyn Moss (Josh Brolin), a good guy in the wrong place at the wrong time, while Sherriff Ed Tom Bell (Tommy Lee Jones) chases after both of them.
From the minute Llewelyn steals the money from the aftermath of a shootout between rival gangs, his life becomes a minute-by-minute game of survival as he is hunted by the crafty Chigurh, who is so good he even puts other assassins, like Carson Wells (Woody Harrelson) to sleep.
The movie is set in the borderlands of the South and is a comment of the monstrosity of men and how crime has changed with the introduction of drug money from south of the border, an issue Sheriff Bell struggles with to the end of the movie with its moral ambiguity.
