7. The Blackcoat’s Daughter
The directorial debut of Oz Perkins — son of Anthony Perkins, aka Norman Bates — The Blackcoat’s Daughter is a slow burn type of horror film (meaning it’s definitely not going to be for everyone). The story follows three girls staying at a Catholic school over Christmas break, only to uncover that something sinister is going on with at least one of them. While the pacing may require some patience for the audience, it’s eventually worth it in the end when all hell breaks loose.
