2. The Way Way Back (2013)
Then there’s the other side of the spectrum, when Rockwell can play a lovable and well-meaning father figure of sorts. The Way Way Back is a coming-of-age story about a teenager who, after being forced to spend a summer with his troubled family in their vacation home, gets a job at the local waterpark. There he meets Rockwell, and the two begin to bond. It’s a film that perfectly captures the feeling of growing up and letting go, one that’s bound to make you emotional by the end.
