2. Batman (1989)
“You wanna get nuts? Let’s get nuts!”
If Nolan is responsible for re-introducing the world to a darker Batman, Tim Burton gets credit for being the first one to actually do it. Prior to Batman, the world’s thoughts of the caped crusader began and ended with Adam West. While his take was fun in its own right, Burton showed up that there’s more to Batman than campiness. In addition, Michael Keaton might just be the best Batman we’ve had to date and Jack Nicholson’s Joker is one for the history books.
