The xx in the mailbox
In 2016, The xx announced their U.K. tour in a rather unconventional manner. Instead of sending out a media blast, they went straight to the fans. Some lucky followers found free tickets to upcoming gigs in their mailbox. Early this year, the band employed the same technique to alert US fans of their North American tour.
