Dua Lipa was born on August 22, 1995, in Camden, London to her Albanian parents from Pristina, the capital of Kosovo. When the singer was about 11 years old her family moved back to Kosovo around the time it became independent. To follow her dreams of becoming a singer Lipa convinced her parents to let her go back to London. On her Twitter, Lipa said, "Take the girl out of Kosovo but can't take Kosovo out of the girl."
Since her debut in 2015 Lipa was able to show her hometown of Pristina just how much all of her hard work paid of during her performance at the Germia National Park on August 9th, 2016, which gathered a crowd of more than twenty thousand.
