The first international trailer for the next chapter in the Insidious franchise — Insidious: Chapter 4 — has been released, and you can watch it here:
We don’t know much about the film, but the trailer at least gives us a cleaner title — Insidious: The Last Key. What exactly the last key is or what it could possibly open is anyone's guess.
We do know that, much like Insidious: Chapter 3, the film will once again center around paranormal investigator Elise Rainier (Lin Shaye) and her sidekicks Specs (Leigh Whannell) and Tucker (Angus Sampson). This means that the film will once again be a prequel from James Wan’s first two Insidious films and is likely to place right where the third one left off.
The film is being produced by Blumhouse — who produced the first three, as well as Split and Get Out earlier this year — and will also see original director James Wan in a producers role.

Insidious: The Last Key is being directed by Adam Robitel, who directed The Taking of Deborah Logan and wrote the latest Paranormal Activity film. Besides Shaye, Whannell and Sampson the film is also staring Josh Stewart (Interstellar, The Dark Knight Rises) and Javier Botet (Mama, The Conjuring 2). The release date is January 5, 2018.
