'This Is Us' star Chrissy Metz thanks supportive fans after she was body shamed

Chrissy Metz got some slack from internet trolls earlier this week after she appeared on the MTV Movie & TV Awards in a burgundy latex dressThe actress clapped back at the haters who body shamed and now is thanking all her fans who supported her.

As we reported, Metz responded to the negative comments via social media tweeting, “For the record, I wear what I want, when I want. News flash it’s MY body.”

For every hater though, Metz had twice as many supporters who were angry that she was body shamed and reached out to the This Is Us star with tons of love and support so she wanted to acknowledge those positive fans.

Metz took to Instagram on Wednesday, May 10, with a special message for them writing in part, "The outpouring of love and support from all of you lovely people has not gone unnoticed. I hope that in some small way an unconventional body wearing an unconventional material opened up discussion, hearts and minds. I truly had no idea it would make anyone feel uncomfortable, I just wanted to try something different. All I'm saying, is do YOU. Wear what you want, love you love and treat people the way you want to be treated."
