GLAAD Media Awards winners: 'Moonlight,' 'Shadowhunters,' 'Transparent'

The 28th Annual GLAAD Media Awards were held on Saturday, April 1 and the winners included Moonlight, Transparent and many more.

Taking place at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles, the GLAAD Media Awards honored the media for their representation of individuals in the LGBTQ community. This year’s Vanguard Award winner was actress Patricia Arquette, whose transgender sister Alexis Arquette passed away last year. She dedicated her award to her beloved sister.

Moonlight was recognized as well, marking another win for the Oscar winning film.

At this year’s awards, celebrity attendees wore blue pins to recognize the work GLAAD has done on issues that include racial justice, women’s rights, acceptance of LGBTQ and immigration.

While it was not aired live, the ceremony will be on Logo Thursday, April 6 at 10:00 pm EST.
