How anyone copes with the loss of a child is truly unfathomable. In 13RW, Hannah didn’t leave her parents a note. Andy and Olivia are shown in flashbacks being happily in love, hardworking people, as well as loving parents who are doing the best they can. However, they, with an emphasis on Olivia, are just so shattered by the death of their daughter and the truth behind what led her to die. The discovery scene of Hannah’s body is some of the best acting shown on screen, however the saddest moment was when at a diner, when Andy and Olivia were small-talking with strangers and she spoke as if her daughter was still alive. She needed to pretend to be normal for a moment and her husband let her pretend. One hopes that after the dust settles, while their lives will never be the same, they will find a way to be happy again.
