11. The School Administration’s Cluelessness

All 50 states have mandatory reporting laws that state that counselors, administrators, doctors and psychologists must report anyone who may be of harm to themselves and/or someone else. Most are overly cautious, but the shocking reveal of Mr. Porter’s criminal neglect for not reporting Hannah’s confession of assault and suicidal thoughts wouldn’t just cost him his job, it would likely land him in prison. Principal Bolan wasn’t much better as he saw the graffiti on the walls and did nothing to address it until it was too late.  Hopefully 13RW will serve as a wake up call to schools so they will take action and make sure hurtful graffiti goes does as soon as it goes up and counselors and teachers will be hyper-vigilant.
