13. Every major (and most minor) character is interesting
This cast is amazing and everyone is interesting in their own way—no one is typical, even if they fall into a specific stereotype. People love Clay Jensen. They should. He is a good guy who doesn’t follow the crowd and he’s usually comfortable in his own skin. Hannah isn’t a boring drama queen. Bryce is evil, but not conventional in his methods. Jessica and Sheri aren’t your typical popular girls and they too have demons. Tyler is lonely and creepy. Justin isn’t your normal cute, mean jock bully. Alex can’t seem to do the right thing. Courtney, Marcus and Ryan are overly ambitious and self-centered. Zach is a jealous idiot. And the parents aren’t what you normally see in a project about bullying, depression and suicide. Tony is a sage with great hair and a bitchin’ Mustang. And girl whisperer Jeff is fun to watch too. Everyone in 13RW has a story and all are worth watching. It is shocking (and a bit disappointing) that there are no stinkers in the bunch.
