15. Once More with Feeling (Season 6, Episode 7)
Whedon claimed to have wanted to write a musical episode since the beginning of the show’s production. After he invited the cast to a Shakespeare reading at his home and the group began to drink and sing, Whedon realized that some cast members had musical talents. This propelled him to make his dream a reality.
The songs in the episode are actually really good. It took Whedon six months to write the music and he astounded cast members when the songs were finally revealed. The episode features a creative storyline that ties into the season’s plot as well as impressive choreography, great set design and of course, witty dialog.
