18. Dopplegangland (Season 3, Episode 16)
Willow’s alternate identity was so much fun to watch, that the writers brought her back for an encore in Dopplegangland. In this episode, Vampire Willow somehow finds herself stuck in the real Buffy reality. The episode features more expert acting by Hannigan during a brilliant interplay between high school Willow and Vampire Willow. The interaction is heartwarming, and ultimately foreshadows what Willow will become: much darker and, yeah, “kinda gay.”
