1. Orange Is the New Black
Orange Is the New Black (2013-2016), referred to as OITNB, is a comedy-drama based on Piper Kerman’s memoir, Orange Is the New Black: My Year in a Women’s Prison. It is not only Netflix’s most-watched original series, but it is also the first series to score Emmy nominations in both comedy and drama categories. It is about a privileged white woman from New York who is incarcerated because of her involvement in a past crime. It is raunchy, violent, and disdainful, which makes it all the more enticing to watch.
