Similarly to Moonlight, Manchester by the Sea is one of the very best films of the year and is likely to be overlooked by the Academy. While the two have been universally acclaimed, they always seem to finish second and third to La La Land. This would be a good place to award Manchester for the beautifully crafted masterpiece.
