James Corden tackles 'La La Land' audition scene in honor of Oscar mixup (Video)

The Best Picture debacle at the 2017 Academy Awards was handed on a silver platter to all of the hosts of late night who tried their best to make light of the situation.  And James Corden might have taken the cake with his bit.

On Monday, Feb. 27, The Late Late Show with host James Corden decided their joke around #envelopegate would involve James Corden dressed as Emma Stone's character, Mia Dolan, in La La Land as he enters his big audition, just like Stone does in the movie.

The Late Late Show tweeted out a photo of Corden in the full Mia Dolan outfit from the bit after their show ended wishing their audience "sweet dreams." Look how great the outfit turned out!

Instead of singing about "the fools who dream." Corden decided to honor "the ones who lose," making fun of the moment La La Land was mistakenly awarded Best Picture, when Moonlight was the actual winner.

Here's a sample lyric from his version of the iconic scene in the movie:

"Here's to the ones who lose. God, I need so much booze. Here's to the ones who hope, who switched that envelope? They told them, Moonlight, come give your speech on your film about hand jobs on the beach. This result doesn't seem right. Oscars used to be so white!"

The skit is exactly how the scene played out in the movie, including a cameo appearance by Ryan Gosling at the beginning as he appears in the actual scene.  The only exception?  Corden's lower voice range, the changed lyrics in ode to the Oscar snafu and perhaps a bigger sized sweater.
