Singer Frank Ocean is being sued by his own father, Calvin Cooksey, for $14.5 million in a defamation lawsuit.
NPR Music reports that Cooksey, who is representing himself in the lawsuit, is accusing Ocean of libel after a Tumblr post by the singer last June just after the Orlando night club shooting.
In the post Ocean penned, "I was six years old when I heard my dad call our transgender waitress a f*ggot as he dragged me out a neighborhood diner saying we wouldn’t be served because she was dirty."
Cooksey denies the claim in an email to Rolling Stone, stating, "I have never discriminated against anyone transgender or heterosexual or homosexual." Cooksey blames Tyler the Creator, calling him a "Devil Worshiper." In another bazaar statement in the lawsuit, Cooksey apologizes for his son's sins, citing the "defendant's favorite sin" to be "disrespecting thy father."
This is not the first time Cooksey has filed such a lawsuit. In 2014, he attempted to sue Russell Simmons for $142 million after Simmons referred to Cooksey as a "deadbeat dad." That case was thrown out before reaching court.
