Rock legends Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love's only daughter has made her modeling debut this year with Marc Jacob's spring collection.
Last week, the fashion designer announced via Instagram that the model for his new spring collection would be none other than Frances Bean Cobain. Jacobs posted a photo of the 24-year old wearing a lacy, frilly (pink and periwinkle) dress with high-necked buttons and a bib.
"I first met Frances Bean when she was 2 years old at a dinner with her mom (Courtney) and Anna Sui in 1994 at Bar Six in NYC. I have always wanted to work with Frances. Her beauty, uniqueness, and strength is something I have long admired and respected," Jacobs wrote.
"Few things remain as constant as my continued inspiration from those whose honesty, integrity, courage, and curiosity lead them to explore and venture beyond preconceived boundaries. Photographed by @davdisimofficial, I am pleased to share the first image of Frances Bean Cobain for our Spring/Summer 2017 campaign," his post concluded.
Cobain also took to Instagram to announce her new modeling endeavors, but has no future plans to continue this as a career.
In a phone interview with Vogue she stated, “I don’t think I’ll be modeling for anybody else for a very long time — this is 100 percent outside my comfort zone. I wouldn’t have done it with anyone other than Marc.
“I could never do [modeling] professionally, but I’m glad I did it with Marc, because I trust him,” she said.
Cobain also says she admires Jacobs for his rebellious aesthetic in the fashion world and that's why she choose to work him over anyone else, adding, “I’m not representing the beautiful top models of the world,” she said. “I’m representing what a general, standard, average human girl would look like wearing these clothes. I think that’s why Marc picked me for this.”
The clothes Cobain modeled also went down the runway at the 2016 show as part of Marc Jacob's 2017 Spring Collection.
