Jimmy Kimmel may have landed the coveted gig of hosting the Oscars, but some of his jokes just fell flat. One of the host's most cringe-inducing moments came when he joked that incarcerated former football star O.J. Simpson would be getting an extra slice of bologna on his sandwich after O.J.: Made in America won the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature. Some of Kimmel's jokes were slightly tone-deaf. At one point quipped "I mean remember last year when people thought the Oscars were racist," making light of last year's #OscarsSoWhite controversy. Kimmel also raised eyebrows when he lifted child actor Sunny Pawar over his head in an obvious homage to The Lion King, which some viewers saw as being problematic. You tried Jimmy, maybe a little too hard, but you tried.
