Netflix to reboot 'Queer Eye for the Straight Guy'

Netflix has announced that it is going to reboot the popular Bravo makeover reality show Queer Eye for the Straight Guy.

Entertainment Weekly has an exclusive quote from the producers:

In a time when America stands divided and the future seems uncertain, a team of five brave men will try to bring us closer together with laughter, heart, and just the right amount of moisturizer."

The original show, which ran from 2003-2007, featured "The Fab Five" who gave straight men makeovers when they had a hard time in their lives.  But, don't expect the original Fab Five, which includes Ted Allen and Carson Kressley, to return.  Netflix is casting for five new people to helm the makeovers this time around, according to TMZ.

Although a lot of details have not been announced, there are some exciting twists to share.  Instead of the makeovers being held in New York City, like the original show, the new Fab Five will go to all of the Red States in an attempt to "Make America Fabulous Again."

Netflix has picked up the makeover show for eight initial episodes, in its attempt to revamp its reality television programming.

A release date has not yet been announced.
