Madonna believes she is one of the only famous figures in Hollywood to take a political stance.
Harper's Bazaar interviewed Madonna recently and learned that the 58-year-old singer thinks Hollywood is being too "quiet," especially in regards to the latest presidential election.
While many celebrities have expressed their opinions about the election and our president-elect, Meryl Streep being among those, clearly Madge doesn't think there are enough.
"I mean nobody in the entertainment business except for maybe a handful of people ever speak about what's going on," Madonna said. "Nobody takes a political stance or expresses an opinion."
It's possible that many celebrities refrain from political expression due to public backlash. But Madonna has been known for being controversial and opinionated throughout her career. "Because I'm political," Madonna goes onto say.
The Queen of Pop then recounted the heartbreak she has felt since the election and loss of the candidate she supported, Hilary Clinton.
"It's like being dumped by a lover and also being stuck in a nightmare."
One of her latest social media posts show a photo and of her and President Obama, with the caption, "Good-bye Mr. President. There will never be another one like you! Barack Obama you are a King amongst Men."
Perhaps these are the type of political statements Madonna is hoping other celebrities make publicly.
