Lee Greenwood 'feels sorry' for those passing on invite to perform at Trump Inauguration

Singer Lee Greenwood is among the performers lined up for this week's inaguguration events for President Elect Donald Trump and he recently expressed his dismay at those who have opted out of performing.

Greenwood specifically calls out Jennifer Holliday, who recently penned an open letter to fans regarding the cancellation of her performance after receiving backlash on social media.

Greenwood told Variety of the cancellation, “You don’t get this invitation very often. To say no — I can’t imagine the embarrassment she might have later on.”

A number of stars succumbed to the pressures of social media backlash, including Andrea Bocelli and Garth Brooks.

Greenwood joins 3 Doors Down, The Piano Guys and Toby Keith, among others performing on Jan. 19 at Lincoln Memorial, the night prior to the Jan. 20 inauguration ceremony.
